About Me
Hello there,
My name is David Preston and welcome to my new online home.
I have been working in and around the creative industries in an amateur capacity for many years now, and I am looking to move into more professional pastures.
As you will find, my primary skills are in the areas of Dramatic and Musical Recording and Production, although I am also experienced in Promotional Design, Freelance Composition, Website Design, Live Audio Engineering and assorted other fields, whatever I turn my hand to.
I work with the philosophy that, in what ever I am producing, whether it be recording a song, designing a flyer, or creating new and interesting sound FX, the MOST important thing is the Narrative. All art is a journey and every journey a story. In the end, all we have is our stories.

Software & Equipment
I am a bit of a gear-head and endeavour to have access to the best quality equipment. My primary weapons of choice are Steinberg’s Cubase SX3 and NUENDO 3, but I also have accesses to Protools, Adobe Audition (cool edit pro 2 for the old-school), and various other audio editing tools.
I use a Spirit FX8 mixing desk combined with M Audio Delta 1010 interface, along with assorted Berignger and Zoom outboard compressors and effects. I use Red 5 Audio and AKG microphones and miles upon miles of custom soldered cables.
I have the full MS office suite for day to day admin as well as accesses to Photoshop tools, Dreamweaver and assorted other graphics and web design software.
And Drums…
...well just take a look, this is on "modest setup” mode. I use Yamaha Acoustic drums & hardware, Jobeky Electric drums, Alesis DM5 drum brain and whatever cymbals that are required to do the job
